Village of Merrillan
The Village of Merrillan is in need of Poll workers. To be a Poll worker for the Village of Merrillan one must be a resident of Jackson County. The following are the positions on Election Day at the Village’s polling place;Greeter/VPA (Voter Public Access) - Determine if voter is atcorrect polling location. Position requires standingand movement. Also verifies voter’s registrationinformation prior to receiving a ballot.Poll Book - Look up voter in poll book, enter voter number andnotes. Accuracy and attention to detail is required.Ballot Table - Ensure ballots have two initials, and have beenstamped with the correct polling location stamp.Registration Deputy - Assists voter to register to vote at the correct polling location. Accuracy and attention to detail is required.All positions require mandatory attendance at election training given by the Village Clerk and are compensated for the time they work. Hours:Polls are open 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Election workers are required to arrive at 6:30 AM and may leave after the polls close and their duties are completed. Polling location is at the Village Hall. Workers may sign up for full day or partial day. Every effort is made to assign Election Workers to their desired jobs, however, this cannot be guaranteed and assignments are subject to change on an as needed basis.Please contact the Merrillan Village Hall in person or by phone at 715-333-2332 if you are interested in assisting your fellow citizens with the upcoming Presidential Elections. ...
